Manchester United are looking to get over their bad start to the season after the international break.
And they seem ready to hurdle over any obstacles in their path after holding a training session in the cold weather at their Carrington base on Wednesday morning.
Jose Mourinho will be hoping it prepares his players to leap up the table when Premier League action returns this coming weekend. They are currently eighth in the league.
He put his United stars through a hurdling drill during the training session, although a few of their bigger names were absent due to their international duty.
Even so, the likes of Juan Mata, Chris Smalling, Anthony Martial and Phil Jones were all involved on a wet morning in Manchester.
Fred could be seen wrapped up in a snood and jumping over the hurdles that had been set up for the United players.
Marouane Fellaini’s new haircut was on show as he was involved in the session. He is continuing his recovery from an injury that kept him out of Belgium duty over the break.
Ander Herrera and Andreas Perreira were both seen hurdling the obstacle while being watched by United’s coaches.
Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace will be the first time United have played at home since October 28, and Mata admitted the team were looking forward to returning.
‘It’s been a long while and the team misses it as you’d expect when your home is somewhere so special,’ he told ManUtd.com.
‘You want to get back to playing there as soon as possible and put in a good showing for the fans.
‘We aren’t going to fall into the trap of thinking that these are games that are easier than others.
We are going to play knowing the importance of them, motivated to keep moving forward and to get into December in good spirits.
‘In the last month of the year, we have plenty of fixtures and it is key to get to this part of the season in good form in England to ensure you have a more successful campaign.’
