Manchester United’s in-form midfielder Scott McTominay has been voted our Player of the Month for September.
The Scotland international scored his first senior goal at Old Trafford, a belter against Arsenal, in our last outing and has become a vital part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
He was voted Man of the Match in both of the home games in the Premier League, against Leicester City and the Gunners, after imposing performances in the middle of the park.
The homegrown product is maturing nicely and is capable of driving forward with the ball, as he demonstrated to good effect in the closing stage of the 1-0 victory over the Foxes to earn a free-kick deep in opposition territory. His range of passing is getting more and more expansive too and he is a goal threat, heading narrowly over the bar when trying to add to his screamer in the draw with Arsenal.
Although he was rested and left on the bench for the matches against Astana and Rochdale at Old Trafford, he was one of our better performers in the defeat to West Ham on 22 September.
This is the second time Scott has scooped the trophy, after winning it for the first time last April. The 22-year-old succeeds Daniel James, our first victor of the campaign, with the Wales international also on September’s shortlist, along with striker Mason Greenwood.
