Paul Pogba insisted he was the ‘lucky one’ after making a heart-warming trip to spend time with a young cancer fighter in hospital.
The Manchester United star spent time at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Specialist Care with Jack Morgan, who is battling cancer for the third time.
In a post to his Instagram story featuring Pogba, Jack said: ‘I’m very lucky to have a visitor come to visit me today,’ to which Pogba replied: ‘I’m the lucky one,’ with Jack responding: ‘I really appreciate it, it’s made my day’.
Pogba also posted a photo from the meeting, captioned: ‘Little surprise to my g, very strong man .. I pray for you hope you get well very very soon.’
Pogba’s visit to the hospital came courtesy of his friendship with Sam Morgan, Jack’s younger brother.
Since then the pair have become close and Sam revealed on his own story that Pogba offered to make the trip to hospital unprompted.
In a post, Sam said: “Yesterday, Paul texted: how is your brother doing.”
‘I replied “He’s still in hopsital (sic), fighting.”
‘Paul replied by saying: “Send me his address and I’ll be there tomorrow.” What a man.’
In a follow-up, Sam added: ‘All I wanted to do was put a smile on my brother’s face, and we accomplished it again.’
Pogba quickly interjects: ‘I’m not Sam’s client. He’s my G!’
A friend of Jack’s is also shaving his head in solidarity with his friend’s fight, raising money for Royal Marsden.
Meanwhile, the World Cup winner also met up with compatriot Patrice Evra, posting a hilarious video of the pair in matching sunglasses.
In a post captioned ‘Thanks for the beautiful late gift @patrice.evra,’ the pair show off their eyewear, featuring a flip-down lens.
