Manchester United star Timothy Fosu-Mensah has posted a picture of himself and Holland international Donny van de Beek to Instagram – and some Red Devils fans are getting excited.
Ajax midfielder Van de Beek has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer and is valued at around £35million.
Manchester United are just one of the teams reportedly showing interest in the 22-year-old Dutchman, who helped guide Ajax to the Champions League semi-final last season.
And the sight of him holidaying with a Manchester United player has sparked all sorts of excited comments from fans on social media.
In response to the image, which also features Wesley Sneijder, one Red Devils supporter wrote:
“Agent Mensah,” while another added
“Bring Donny to United,” and a third said
“Get Donny to sign for Man United.”
Van de Beek has been coy on his future when asked to address speculation.
“I have a contract with Ajax, now I’m focused on the national team,”
he said when asked if he could be on the move this summer ahead of the Nations League.
“It’s nice that my name is associated with Barcelona, I have to play better, better and better and we’ll see in the future, you never know what can happen.”
Fosu-Mensah’s future at Manchester United is uncertain following an unsuccessful loan spell at relegated Fulham.
The Dutch defender struggled to get in the first team ahead of regular right-back Cyrus Christie, and will likely be sent out on loan again next season.
