Manchester United star Luke Shaw has joined boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by moving into the Lowry Hotel.
The United defender was seen carrying a backpack and Paul Smith designer bag as he arrived back at the hotel on Sunday evening after United’s 1-0 victory over Leicester. A hotel porter was also seen helping him carry rubbish out of his car as Shaw walked up the steps to the entrance.
The 23-year-old is believed to have checked into the upscale Manchester hotel over the weekend and will be staying there until building works on his new mansion are completed.
Shaw sold his jaw-dropping six-bedroom Cheshire mansion – which came with a home cinema and gym – for £2.8million just before Christmas after signing a new and improved long-term deal at United.
He has now moved out of the property and is temporarily residing in the Lowry – where room prices range from £139 to a whopping £2,000 a night – as he waits for his new house to be built.
Jose Mourinho stayed at the luxury hotel for the duration of his two-and-a-half-year reign at United in the Presidential Suite and racked up an eye-watering £537,000 tab before checking out after his sacking back in December.
His replacement Solskjaer is currently still living in the hotel but is planning to move out over the coming weeks and put down his roots in Manchester.
The Norwegian has made an unbelievable start to life in the hot seat with nine wins and one draw in his first 10 matches.
His United side made the perfect response to their mini-blip against Burnley last week by returning to winning ways with a slender victory at the King Power on Sunday.
Marcus Rashford, who has been reinvigorated since Solskjaer took over, scored the only goal in the first half as United claimed a vital victory in the race for Champions League qualification.
