Manchester United fans have demanded the return of Memphis Depay after the Dutch ace scored a stunning solo goal for Lyon at the weekend.
The 25-year-old, who spent 18 months at Old Trafford from June 2015 to January 2017, bagged Lyon’s first in a 2-0 win over Metz on Saturday, taking his tally to 11 goals in 15 appearances for club and country so far this season.
The scintillating strike is Depay’s fifth goal in his last five matches in all competitions, which is identical to Man Utd’s record as a team over the same number of games.
The Red Devils have struggled to convert chances this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side netting more than once on just two occasions so far this term.
Some Man Utd supporters have urged the club to re-sign Depay in a bid to bring more goals to the side, despite the Dutchman recording just seven goals and six assists in his first spell at Old Trafford.
