Midfielder Andre Gomes will miss Sunday’s game after he was handed a three-match suspension following an incident in the Toffees’ defeat to Fulham last weekend.
Manager Marco Silva also confirmed on Thursday that defender Yerry Mina, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring problem, is their only injury concern for this one.
That means the Merseysiders could welcome back two former Reds in Michael Keane and Morgan Schneiderlin. The pair have not featured in either of Everton’s last two outings but could be available to face United on Sunday.
Manchester United Team News
Luke Shaw remains unavailable for the Reds after he picked up his 10th yellow card of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month, but Ashley Young is available again following his red card in the same game.
Ole Gunnar also confirmed that Alexis Sanchez and Nemanja Matic could feature against the Toffees. “Nemanja and Alexis had a good session yesterday [Thursday] , so they will probably be involved,” the boss told MUTV on Friday. Alexis returned from a knee injury at the Nou Camp but could be handed his first Premier League minutes in seven weeks at Goodison Park.
As for Matic, he has missed the last four through a mixture of illness and injury. The boss could also be tempted to utilize the full squad with a busy period of three games in just eight days coming up.
