According to ‘The Telegraph’, De Gea will pen a new six-year deal with the Red Devils.
Not only that but he’ll become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world. The 28-year-old will earn £130m in total, working out at around €21m per season.
The money on offer played a huge part in convincing De Gea to stay, as did Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s support when he was going through his toughest spell at the club.
He’ll now be the second-highest earner at the club behind Alexis Sanchez. The contract is to be signed once United return from their Asia Tour.
