Alexis Sanchez’s woeful Manchester United form has not gone unnoticed in his homeland, with Chile manager Reinaldo Rueda publicly voicing his concerns over the striker.
Sanchez has only scored two goals all season for United and went off injured in the 52nd minute of Saturday’s 3-2 win over Southampton.
‘For sure it’s very worrying,’ Rueda said of Sanchez’s form to La Tercera newspaper. ‘These are situations that happen in football.
‘We hope he overcomes this very quickly because he has all the quality, a track record, experience and quality to assert himself.
‘I hope we can enjoy the Alexis we all knew at again.’
‘We don’t know yet. He got a knock on his knee,’ Solskjaer said on Saturday.
‘It might be his ligaments. We’ll do the scan tomorrow. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad but we won’t know until we’ve done the scans.’
United are next in action on Wednesday against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and trail 2-0 from the first leg.
As well as Sanchez, United have a doubt over Anthony Martial, who hasn’t played since hobbling off with a groin injury in the first leg on February 12.
Jesse Lingard is also expected to be unavailable after a hamstring strain in United’s draw with Liverpool.
